Irresistible Me Jade Straightening Brush Review

Irresistible Me Jade Straightening Brush Review
Irresistible Me Jade Straightening Brush Review

Usually I like to wash my hair and let it air dry but now and again it does need that little bit of extra help! However I'm not a fan of the ultra straight look that straightners give as I like a little more texture - this is where the fab  comes in handy! As it is a brush rather than two clamps it helps to tame frizz whilst still letting my hair keep it's slight wave.

It comes with multiple heat settings but I went for the lowest as my hair isn't used to heated tools! It took a couple of minutes to heat up but it was less time than that to actually use, it was so simple even a numpty like me could do it without accidentally having any burn incidents. I brushed my hair through with a Tangle Teezer then used this like a normal brush and the results were as you can see below:

As you can see it's still quite messy because that's how I like it but it's static free! I love how lightweight the brush is (anyone else hate getting a dead arm when doing their hair? Or maybe I'm just mega unfit...) and just a very simple piece of kit that gives good results. It's a meaning that it's super convenient for travelling as all you'll need is an adapter plug. All in all I'm very impressed with this and it's encouraged me to make that teeny bit of extra effort with my hair!

Have you tried this brush before? Are you a fan of the straight look?

A Lazy Haircare Routine

I'm typically very much a 'wash and go' kind of person when it comes to my hair but lately I've realized that a little effort does go a long way. I like to keep things very natural and quite messy because quite frankly I don't have the skillz to do anything too fancy but I've found that these recent, easy additions to my hair care routine have made all the difference!

Tangle Teezer Thick And Curly review

| I usually just buy whatever shampoo and conditioner is on offer and has the best scent and condition first before washing because otherwise I think my hair can get a bit weighed down. Once it's towel dried I brush it through with a Tangle Teezer because they really are the best. I own four (I even bought one for the dog, no joke) and my latest is the Thick & Curly Brush* which is perfect for getting all the knots out of my hair, as it tends to get very knotty very quickly.

| Then I spritz in a few sprays of this oil which I bought on a whim as it was a horrid rainy day and I wanted something that reminded me of summer! As you can imagine it smells gorgeous and I love that you can still smell it on my hair a day later - don't you think it's just the nicest thing when someone's hair smells nice? This keeps my hair curly without the frizz and also adds some much needed shine.

| The oil works best when you blow dry your hair but we all know I'm too lazy for that so once it's air dried I spray a bit of Elnett (an oldie but a goodie) on my fingers and scrunch up my hair to add some texture and give it that messy, bedhead look. I like that it's non-sticky, holds well but brushes out easily and again, smells lovely.

So that's it! A couple of extra steps that take no time at all but make such a difference. I'd like to think my hairdresser would be proud I've established some kind of routine (we just won't tell her that I'm still cutting my own fringe...) What are your haircare secrets?

BEAUTY | L'Oreal Elvive Extraordinary Oil Fine Hair Review

If you'd told me a couple of months ago that I'd be using a hair oil I'd have laughed in your face because I have a real thing about hating oily hair...so much so that I wash my hair daily, sometimes even twice which I know is so bad for it and is actually making it too dry. Until I could stop washing it every day I needed a solution and after seeing the wonders facial oil has done for my skin I thought I'd give oil a chance for my hair too. I was recommended the L'Oreal Elvive Extraordinary Oil for Fine Hair by Kate (again, girl is the ultimate enabler haha!)

So I wash my hair every night, spritz about 4 or 5 sprays through the mid length and ends and leave it to air dry. I never brush my hair in the mornings so what you see in my outfit posts is what I wake up with...still has that messy look that I like but not a bit of frizz in sight! I was especially pleased at the difference at the ends, they no longer feel so dry and delicate. My hair is much less of a tangly mess in the evenings when it comes to brushing it, which was a real problem before. It's also made my hair look much fuller and I'm most definitely having less bad hair days since I started using this...basically, it's changed ma hurr's life! It's  lightweight enough to spray on dry hair just to add that extra bit of shine if  needed and I've gotta mention the scent...I don't know how to describe it but for example when I got hugged the other day the person said 'Oooh, you smell like a girl!' Dread to think what I smelt of before then...

All in all, a big thumbs up from me! I'd say it's perfect for people who, like me, are wary of oils as it's just so lightweight it's hard to get it wrong!

BEAUTY | The Higher The Hair The Closer To Heaven

Jumper - Daisy Street | Denim - H&M | Shoes - Mango

Yep, I know my outfits posts are rather samey but frankly my dear, I don't give a damn. If I could wear this jumper every day, I would...actually I do, my baaad. But you know, if I'm going to spend my money on something then I wanna make sure it's on something that I love and appreciate (even if this jumper did cost less than £20!) What can I say, I like to get my money's worth. I have definitely been guilty in the past of buying pieces simply because a magazine said it was 'bang on trend' (worst phrase ever) or because of blogger hype, it got worse when I started my own blog. However this year I've definitely become less wasteful when it comes to clothes shopping and I think my style has become much more refined although I've still gotten waylaid now and then. I have a post on this coming up some other time!

But the subject of today? I did my hurrr big and I like it! It's strange how a boost in your hair can boost up your whole mood...I'm so late to the game but maybe those TOWIE girls have actually been onto something this whole time. I hope you had a happy Christmas, I definitely did. Family, food and fun (and gifts too, was gonna do a post on mine but then I thought about it and realised they'll probably pop up on the blog soon enough anyway so that's saved myself a lot of effort...I know, I'm a lazy girl.) I will hopefully try and post a bit more on here, my IVs finished on Boxing Day (woo!) but I've had migraines for about a week now so I've barely turned on the laptop. Can't wait to catch up with everyone's blogs!
