The October Wishlist

I'm not really a Halloween person. I mean I love a scary film and give me all the Halloween baked goods (have you tried those orange chocolate chip cupcakes from the Co-op? Oh my Lorrrrd!) But I'm not a fan of fancy dress, it just makes me feel weird. However anything celestial or if it looks like it'd be hanging up in Florence Welch's closest I'm on board. So in keeping with the spooky spirit of October here's a witchy wishlist of things you can wear this month and beyond!

Can Corduroy Be Cool?

I think so. Maybe I'm a victim of the instagram effect or maybe I like the nostalgia of them - they bring me back to my childhood when my wardrobe was full of cords of every colour, but right now I'm craving a pair of pink corduroy trousers. Yes, really. To be fair this isn't the first time Isabel Marant has got me coveting an unlikely trend (wedge trainers anyone?) but she can add that certain je ne sais quoi to just about anything plus you know that pink is kind of my thing. I don't really buy into trends that much now but I think they'll be a really fun addition to my autumn wardrobe! Not convinced? Then be inspired:

The September Wishlist

September is a time of new beginnings for many therefore making it a blimmin' good excuse for new additions to your wardrobe. I'll be starting uni at the end of the month (eek!) so have already picked up a few 'uni essentials' start, new look etc etc! I've compiled a wishlist to see you (and me) into the tricky transitional season. Happy shopping!

The Prettiest Trend This Summer

So now that weather seems to be playing ball I for one am so buzzing to start wearing more of my Spring/Summer wardrobe. I used to be such an Autumn/Winter girl but I'm getting a little bored of jeans and coats - bring on florals, blue denim and cute lil tops! One trend I'm obsessed with right now is all the embroidered goodness that's everywhere...not my usual thing but I love the detail and it makes a nice change to plain basics. Sure you can give it a go yourself but if, like me, you're not so skilled with a needle and thread I've rounded up some of the best from Quiz Clothing (make sure you check out the site, especially the beaut section for more goodness!)

Blue Embroidered Denim Jacket £34.99 - How cute would this look with summer dresses and trainers (perhaps one of these...)
Blue And White Gingham Bardot Top £19.99 - I'd wear this with big gold hoops and a pop of red, maybe a little bag or a red lip.
Pink Embroidered Tie Up Shoes £29.99 - Ok so tie up shoes can be an absolute pain BUT they look super cute with floaty dresses.
White Flower Embroidered Trainers £22.99 - Top of my Spring hitlist are some Gucci-esque embroidered trainers and these would fit the bill nicely.
Blue And White Striped Embroidered Swing Vest Top £16.99 - How easy is this to wear with some skinnies and sandals/heels?
Light Blue Flower Embroidered Skinny Jeans £34.99 - I had to sell my embroidered jeans as they were a wee bit big - so gutted! So I'm on the lookout for a new pair and I love the red embroidery on these.

And some inspiration on how to wear it...

What do you think of this trend? I want an embroidered denim jacket ASAP!

An Unapologetic Girl

Call it the Reformation/Rèalisation effect, or perhaps I simply have more energy to put the effort in these days (because whilst they look totally effortless, these babes definitely require a lot of fake tan/leg prep on my part) I cannot get enough of little dresses right now! Surprising, given I'm such a tomboy at heart but I am so ready to break away from my jeans. Maybe not my trainers though, but these look just as good if not better when worn with scruffy Converse as well as summer sandals and those block heeled suede pumps that are everywhere right now () When I'm not feeling lazy I love sourcing them from places like Depop, eBay and vintage stores but my go-to is - they have the best selection right now and I feel like they're the ones that fit me best! So here's my top picks from there and a good dose of Pinterest inspo too. Hopefully you'll find something to inspire you and also, here's hoping the sun makes a reappearance soon too...

 - I wish this came in regular too, I would snap it up right away!
 - I think this would look amazing with red shoes.
- I'd never usually go for lilac but this is the perfect colour to wear with a black leather jacket.
- Maybe a little too cutesy for me but the detail on this is stunning, make sure you check out the back!
- I have this and definitely regret not sizing down! I'm looking for the perfect little bralet top to wear under it (a white tee makes me look like a child!) but if I can't find one it may end up on Depop. Shame, because I love it so much!
- I have this too and LOVE IT. I know it's like a blogger 'it' piece right now but it's so versatile and pretty, I'm going to get so much wear out of it.

...and a hefty source of inspiration

What do you think of this trend? I don't know about you but I'm so ready to embrace being an unapologetic girly girl this summer!

A Case For 80's Style

It's certainly not for everyone, but I for one am thrilled (or should that be frilled?) to see the return of 80's style. Maybe it's because I'm not old enough to remember it all the first time round that I'm so enamoured by all the tulle, ruffles and power shoulders or maybe it's because I'm obsessed with 80's movies (Meg Ryan and Billy Crystal too actually, have THE best wardrobes in When Harry Met Sally!)  I just don't think it deserves it's bad reputation. Unfairly (in my opinion) described as the decade that fashion forgot, there is good and bad in every era - I doubt we'll be looking back fondly on UGGs and those furry Gucci's haha.  I think there is real inspiration to be had if you look hard enough - it's a bit like TK Maxx innit? I think I may even like it more than the 60's and definitely more than the 70's (could not get on with that trend.) As expected, Topshop is leading the way and I have a wishlist as long as my arm.

Tulle, ruffles and the power shoulder might not be what you'd expect from my usual style but I don't think you have to go all out - imagine that little jacket just paired with jeans and loafers? I love the contrast of a thick knit or industrial leather worn with soft tulle (you can find cheaper skirts all over the place, ) and swap thick tights for sheer ones or even fishnets if you're feeling brave enough. Double breasted jackets and pie crust collar shirts are always classic and of course not forgetting lots of denim. If it's all still too out there look to the boys for inspiration - bomber jackets, trainers and light wash denim all look a lot cooler than they sound. Plus the kids from Stranger Things are my fave! It's easy to incorporate a little of the 80's into your every day look (this is how I've been doing it and ) and if you're still not convinced click after the jump for a mega load of inspiration to get you on board!

Blogmas #8 | Gift Guide For Guys

Men are an absolute pain in the ass to buy for I find. Why is it when you ask them what they want all you get is a 'I dunno, nothing.' Let them have nothing Christmas Day, they'll be sad then. Saying that, this year I've found it a little bit easier than usual so thought I'd share some of my ideas with you in case you're in need of a bit of inspiration. I don't really like the whole gifts for 'her' and 'him' thing because it makes you think that certain things are just for certain genders when really you should just have whatever the hell you want regardless of who it was made for! However these things do lean more towards the more masculine side of the spectrum even though I'd be happy to receive a few of them myself!

| | | |  | |

Shops like and are great for quirky buys for everyone, even if they are a little pricey. However I'd rather give someone something small and unique that they wouldn't necessarily buy for themselves because it'd be seen as a bit 'frivolous' rather than get a load of tat! The little lemon bottle opener is a good example, sticking with the bar theme the tumblers are pretty cool as well. Cookbooks are a good gift for foodies and this one is fab as it combines recipes with playlists which I haven't seen before.

Food and drink is in general a wise idea (I'm putting together a little hamper for my grandad) as is anything a bit techy - ear phones always go down well, as hands up who else is always breaking theirs? I also like to buy men skincare as the fact that the majority of them are still using shower gel as face wash cringes me out a little. I think these days blokes shouldn't be embarrassed about buying it but some still are or maybe they're just a bit clueless about what to buy - whatever the reason, gift sets like this Elemis one (a very nice brand!) will stop them swiping your moisturiser on the sly.

I hope that was somewhat helpful! Please remember if you're shopping online to use - a charity of your choice will be given a little money with each purchase you make at no extra cost to you (may I suggest the 😉) What will you be treating the men in your life to this Christmas?

Window Shop | Valentino Inspired

When I saw the pics from the Valentino A/W16 show () I was just like I. Am. Done. I am DECEASED. Based on punk ballerina Karole Armitage and full of velvet, tulle and beautiful shoes, forget the party season - I will wear  at my wedding, I just don't know if I want to get married in  it or get married to it. Just need to find me someone who can afford to buy me it 😏 Dreamydreamydreamy and in my dreams it'll stay because the price is just a *tad* over budget. So I've been trawling through what the good old high street has to offer - enjoy, and let me know what your favourite piece is!

New In Boots For Autumn/Winter

You know I'm addicted to my sneaker collection but it's now my favourite time of year - boot season! I had a clear out and was left with four 'essential' pairs - for every day wear, , for when I want to dress a little fancier and of course my . I felt there was more than enough room for some newbies so I've added these to my family of babies.

zalando iconics lace up boots, warehouse metallic ankle boots

zalando iconics black suede lace up boots
warehouse metallic heeled ankle boots

First up are I've wanted similar boots for ages but couldn't find ones that were the right heel height until I came across these. They're from the Zalando Iconics collection and they're bloody perfect, exactly what I had in mind. I'm not really that good in heels but these are surprisingly comfortable to walk in and I love the lace ups, they give off those Victorian/1920's vibes (if there is such a thing...)

The second pair are a lot more out there but I've been thinking about them non stop since I spied them on ASOS so thought it was time to make a purchase. and they're my dream boots really. I've wanted a silver pair or ankle boots for years, in fact I believe one of my very first posts was dedicated to them (blaming Chung for that, as always) and seeing as they're everywhere this season it was really now or never to own a pair. They're a bit more subtle than the shinier ones on offer but they're certainly still a statement!

Below is a little wishlist I've put together, they're all and I think each pair is a great option to take you from day to night - similar to the pairs I've just bought! Gotta love a multi-tasker ;-) My tip is go for the Jalouse, it's a style that will go with everything and the heel is wearable for day time but just dressy enough for evening too.

Have you added any new boots to your collection this autumn?

Nobody's Child Wishlist

I have a list as long as my arm of important stuff I need to save for, I wish I could include a pair of Acne Jensen's on that list but if I did those boots really would be made for walking because I'd have no money for the driving lessons that I need *sobsob* So it did not come at a good time to discover (I know, I know, where have I been?) Seriously, I went on the site and was like that Mr Krabs meme, they have so many gorgeous, bargainous things and I just want it all. Doesn't help that the styling is just perfect! It's also an ethical AND affordable brand too,  - you don't usually put those two words in the same sentence! But since I've been trying to stop buying things I've been encouraging everyone else to shop instead - I've sent links to friends, family and now you, happy shopping!

 / / / / / / /

As you can see I'm still into monochrome this A/W (ain't we all?) but I'm hoping to add in pops of blush and some star print too - it's only a matter of time before I order that beautiful dress! I'm so pleased there's so much of this pink about because I'm not really a fan of the usual rusts and burgundys this time of year, at least not on me anyway.

This is all from the section but that shouldn't be ignored, I think I may get a dress or two for next summer because they're so bloody cheap. I usually get all my summer clothes in the sales and spend more on winter stuff because I think a cheap knit tends to look cheap but a bargain summer dress can look more expensive with the right accessories! That's my official, know-it-all advice anyway ;-)

Seeing as we've got to the end of the post I'll no longer lie to you, I've ordered the starry dress, the bomber, the nude cami and a summer dress from the sale because after writing this I convinced myself I needed them. Oops.

Have you shopped at Nobody's Child? What are you loving for A/W? I'll let you know what the pieces are like once they arrive!

Topshop Autumn Wishlist

I've just emptied half my wardrobe in another attempt to have a more 'streamlined' life but naturally I now just want to fill it with more stuff. The Topshop 20% student discount hasn't gone unnoticed but I've been good and have just thrown all of my wants into a wishlist (tomorrow is the last day of the discount though so let us pray I have the strength to see this spending ban through.)

| | | |

I'm not usually that into florals but imagine these with really sheer black tights, black ankle boots and chunky knits (although get those from GAP because Topshop ones are a bit crap.) I don't usually buy single eyeshadows either but I've been looking for a browny/purple shade for ages and I think this would be very nice with smudgy eyeliner and lots of mascara.

I know the boots are a bit silly but they're also a bit Bowie and I like that! Luckily for my bank balance my feet have been a bit fooked since transplant (they hurt) and I can only wear flats or trainers so I won't be investing in a pair. Finally the velvet mini, which is realistically probably the only thing I'd get the most wear out of in this list but again it's a bit of a gimmicky purchase so I'll leave it this time!

I definitely need to make the most of what I already own, my spending lately has been ridiculous. I AM NOT SPENDING ANY MORE. Famous last words...

11 Cute Treats Under £20 To Buy Yourself This Valentine's Day

You don't need a special day to tell those you love just how much they mean to you and you probably don't need another reason to go shopping but just run with it. I always buy myself a little treat on Valentine's Day using the excuse of 'Waaah I'm just going to be a crazy dog lady all by myself forever' or 'I love me, I deserve all the things!' (going for the latter this year) but really I don't feel either of those things, I just want an excuse to buy myself something adorable. I've rounded up eleven cute treats under £20 that I've been eyeing up for a bit and I think you may like them too!

(Or all 3 for £8, so get them all!)

So yes, this year I shall be my own Valentine - that's nothing new though! I'm torn between getting the socks or the OB mug, which would be so pretty to store make up brushes in but then, y'know, Disney. Apart from , , ,  , , , , , ,  and then a few other bits, I think you'll agree I just don't have enough Bambi in my life.

Anything take ya fancy here? What are you treating yourself to this Valentine's Day?

The Winter Shoe Wishlist

Well, they're not all 'winter' shoes in particular but just shoes I want - they'd definitely cheer me up in this dreary, wintery weather anyway! I've gone for a mix of cheaper, mid range and more pricey picks, obviously I should only bother looking at the cheapie ones but one can dream right?

I love ankle boots and I've just got myself an over the knee pair but before I'd kind of considered anything in between a bit frumpy. But lately I've been liking the idea of a knee high boot, I don't know if it's because I'm getting older or the weather is getting colder but I reckon they'd look nice with skinnies and a big knit - very cosy indeed!

I live in but I'd love a suede pair - I'm so in love with the star boots and their quite frankly shockingly low price! They'd jazz up a boring outfit (aka my usual daily looks) and the heel is so wearable for a clumsy oaf like me, I'm am sooo very tempted.

Finally, a shoe wishlist of mine wouldn't be complete without trainers because they're my addiction! I know the wedge sneaker thing is a bit dead now but personally I'm still so in love with the Bobby sneakers, to me they're not gimmicky at all but a true classic. Like Stan Smiths, which have been done to death but although they're super popular right now I think they'll always be quite cool. Then on the opposite end of the spectrum we have shoes that will only last about 5 minutes but they're super fun for the festive season and a great way to do glitter if, like me, you're not a girly girl but don't want to miss out on all the sparkly goodness.

So there's my wishlist, I think if I were to buy anything it'd be the star boots - what's your fave pair here?

*Ad collab but shoe addiction is all mine!

Summer Fashion Wishlist

I used to be allll about the winter months but now I get so excited over what little summer we do get - I've loved these freaky heatwaves we've had over the past few years! I think I've got but that's not to say there's no room for a few more additions ;)

Dress - | Sunglasses -  | Earrings - | Sandals - | Jacket -

This kimono dress is one of those things that looks rank on the hanger but a whole lot chicer once it's actually on. You can probably guess that River Island isn't usually my kind of shop but one thing I think they're great for are cute little summer dresses in really nice, lightweight fabrics - I got one of from there a couple of years ago!

I used to never wear sunglasses but since being lucky enough to I'm definitely a convert and wear them all the time ( ahem.) I would love to add something different to my collection, I think these cat eye H&M bargains would look super cool!

Now these earrings are staying firmly on the wishlist but aren't they beautiful? I tend to go for dainty gold jewellery and never really wear earrings but I'm 100% blaming  for this craving! They just add instant Parisian chic to simple outfits, I'm hoping I'll find something nice on Etsy.

I've also really been into the idea of white sandals recently, I know Clarks is supposedly one of those 'granny' brands (my own nan loves them!) but my cousin revealed *in hushed tones* that her sandals are from the brand and I honestly would never have guessed! My feet are so used to trainers I sometimes struggle to wear other shoes but you don't get comfier than Clarks and I guess I need something smarter than my !

Finally a denim jacket, a summer staple but I've yet to find the perfect one! Such a mission. I do really like this Topshop one though, it has a good, oversized fit without looking too vintage/charity shop.

What's on your summer wishlist? Are you more of a summer or winter person?

FASHION | Boden Blues

So I keep seeing  popping up on a few blogs lately (like  and ) so I thought I'd have a little browse to see what else they had going on. I'm 23 days in on a fashion spending ban and I'm doing well but after checking the site out I'm feeling spendy....uh-oh! I'm really feeling blue shades right now as we go into Spring (it's one of the few colours I'll actually wear) so I've gone for that kind of theme with my wishlist.

First things first we have that sweater, I mean look at that gorgeous neckline! I really love the three-quarter length sleeves. The bretons have been raved about by everyone so I had to pop one on the wishlist. I don't actually own one in this shade of blue, I'd like to add one in the collection for Spring/Summer though! The denim top is just my kind of thing, I can imagine it thrown on over black skinnies with Birkies, a little gold necklace and a messy bun. I'd love it tucked into a black denim skirt too! The bag I think is gorgeous, if I were to invest in another bag the colour I'd go for would definitely be chic!

Finally the shoes. THE SHOES. Be still my beating heart. You know when you see something and you're literally swooning? I just think they're beautiful from the navy suede to the pointy toes to the tassels on those marvellous laces. I don't actually own any 'smart' flats and navy would make a great alternative to my usual black. I'm seriously considering blowing my camera fund on them which is a big deal because I'm currently cameraless (and a blogger without a camera is a very sad thing indeed.)

Have you shopped at Boden before? What colours are you feeling for Spring/Summer?

HAPPY FEET: Zara Block Heel Ballerina

Since I was pretty much stuck in bed yesterday (apart from a quick trip to Morrison's where I stocked up on cream, jelly, frozen yoghurt, Marshmallow Fluff) this meant I did a lot of browsing online. I came across these cute shoes on the Zara website, I've been on the lookout for a little pair of dolly shoes for a while now and these would do nicely. Despite the bargain price I won't be buying these since my next pair of shoes needs to be a decent pair of ankle boots because mine are all falling apart! Ideally I'd like to steal my Mum's pair but I think she'd be quite angry with me if I did that. I'll probably still post about them though because they're bee-yoo-tee-ful.

I Love George! (A Bit Of A Hench Post, Sorry.)

I was in two minds about posting the  because I guess some people may find it a little upsetting and depressing but in the end I did because for me personally I love to read and watch as much as I can about CF. CFers can't mix because we can pass lergies to each other that non-CFers can't get, which is quite weird when you think about it! So sometimes I used to feel a bit like dear old , because I was the only person I really knew who had to do the same medicines as me and things like that. So reading articles like that and then getting into social media like blogging and Twitter makes me feel less like poor Georgie Boy, although I feel a bit funny taking some kind of comfort out of others misfortune. I mean obviously I wish they didn't have CF! But you know what I'm saying right?

As for the article, when it was first published (in August 2010 I think) it upset me because at the time it was when I really realised what CF was all about. I first found out about all the life expectancy business when I was about 7 and came across a CF awareness leaflet. I just remember being like 'OMG' and shut myself in my room for the weekend listening over and over again to a Motown tape (I was always a bit different.) But as I was a kid I soon forgot about it by the time I was at school on the Monday morning, although to this day I still can't listen to 'You Can't Hurry Love' without getting this sense of impending doom. I've no idea what caused me to get so panicky about CF when I was 17 but I remember all of a sudden feeling really upset and it lasted for a very long time. Then as randomly as it started the feelings went. I just thought 'Get over yourself. Everyone will die one day and you never know what will happen so stop wasting your life!' I realised that I'm lucky because although I have one bad thing I have more good things. I have the best family, some lovely friends and a comfortable life. I have enough food, clothes and shoes (err scrap can never have enough shoes.) I have access to the best healthcare and am far luckier compared to most people in the world. In the wise, but grammatically incorrect words of T.I., I decided to 'stop thinkin' about what you ain't got, Start bein' thankful for what you do got.' This isn't to say I don't have a little wobble now and again, but remembering this means that they don't last very long and I get over it quickly when I put my life into perspective. CF has made me really good at putting things into perspective, I wish more people did because they'd save themselves a lot of stress and worry! And leaving uni kind of taught me a lesson. At first I thought it was the end of the world and CF was a prick blah, blah, blah but now I know that if things don't go to plan then there's always other options. So if CF puts a stop to other things in the future, I think I'll be alrite.

I'm not posting this for attention or to be praised, I just wanted to talk about CF. Sometimes I get this urge to talk about it, especially when I'm on IVs because they mess with my mind and make me emosh and reflective. (I feel like Carrie Bradshaw! 'I couldn't help but wonder...' haha. If only I had her wardrobe aye?) But it's not always appropriate in real life, it'd be well random to suddenly talk about it and people think I come out with weird enough things as it is! So the blog is the place to do it. And I like to hear others perspectives on living with CF so maybe someone might be interested in my view. But if not, no worries! I'm just glad to get things off my mind so I can  think about funner things, like that I proper want (but can't afford, so perhaps not such a fun thought!) I'm off was a Halloween miracle because we didn't get any trick or treaters last night so there is a big bowl of sweets with my name on it.
